As part of the Walnut House development this annex is founded upon ecological principles. It has green roofs helping it blend into the slopes of the site and utilises local materials wherever possible.

Part of the ecological strategy is to use a Swedish designed effluent treatment facility which purifies effluent to the extent the recycled water could be consumed! Other ecological matters include the rainwater harvesting, recycled timber, local stone, high insulation levels, high performance glazing systems and efficient heating strategies.
