Gybbes Lodge
Project: Barn Conversion
Location: Dartington, South Hams, Devon
Dates: Completed July 2005
Value: £60K

Gybbes Lodge occupies the entire first floor of a Grade II listed 15th Century barn. The grit blasting of all the external walls has allowed for some of the beautiful grey limestone to be left exposed. The conversion was carefully designed to utilise all the existing external openings without requiring any others to be made.

The living / kitchen / dining area takes advantage of the high roof space with the ceiling going up to the ridge, exposing the oak rafters creating an impressive entertaining space.

The internal design has utilised traditional materials in lime render, oak floors and doors, slate bathrooms together with wet room shower and cast iron roll-top bath and oak and granite kitchen.
